"Great Compassionate Sovereign of the Boundless Void Earth Mother", also known as "Empress of the Earth of Heaven-Endorsing, Effectiveness-Following, Profound Virtue, and Great Radiance," and "Empress Houtu" 👑

The character "后" has a female form, depicting the act of childbirth, implying reverence for the mother. The character "土" is mentioned in "Shi Ming Yi Tian" as "tǔ" meaning "to spit" or "to give birth" – it gives birth to all things. The combined meaning refers to the natural deity of Mother Earth nurturing all living beings.

In Taoism, Houtu is even ranked as one of the Four Emperors alongside the Jade Emperor. Humankind cannot exist without the earth; thus, the status of the earth is as noble as the Emperor of Heaven. Therefore, we worship and sanctify. 🙏

The Earth Mother Sutra says: "Everything I created. All multitudes I fashioned. The Earth Mother's blood and sweat were fully spent. The Earth Mother was tireless in her efforts."

It refers to all things in the world, from clothing, food, housing, and transportation, being born from the essence, spirit, and blood of the Earth Mother, allowing her children to find their place in life and achieve beauty and fulfillment. The people's reverence for heaven and earth also stems from their respect and gratitude for the land.

The land where the Golden Ring is worshipped is the Heavenly Mother's Celestial Palace, extending from the ancestral temple, Bao Hu Gong Tian Di Tang Di Mu Temple. According to the temple's records, the Di Mu Temple originated from the Liang Chuanxing family in Xinanli, Puli. The Liang family obtained a book of divination, the "Di Mu Zhen Jing," which was said to originate from Shaanxi. Liang Chuanxing diligently recited this scripture. As a result, during the great Puli earthquake in August 1916, the Liang family received a divine warning from the Heavenly Mother in advance and thus escaped disaster. After Liang Chuanxing's passing, his son moved the family residence and temple to Bao Hu Qu in 1937 and established a statue of the Heavenly Mother there. In 1945, the Heavenly Mother possessed Zhang Jinying and expressed her intention to enlighten the world to her followers. Thus, the construction and establishment of a temple began. It was built as "Tian Di Tang."
