Wuji Wa Huang Yuan Jun, also known as Empress Nuwa, Nuwa Shi, or Wa Huang Yuan Jun, with the full Taoist name "Xuan Yuan Dong Fu Lian Shi Bu Tian Wa Huang Shang Sheng Yuan Jun," is the ancestral mother of humanity in ancient times. The "Dong Shen Ba Di Miao Jing" records that Fuxi Shi, Shennong Shi, and Nuwa Shi are collectively known as the Three Sovereigns. Empress Nuwa is credited with the feat of "creating humankind." She is also credited with establishing the institution of "marriage." More famously, she is known for mending the heavens with five-colored stones, saving the common people from the legend of Gungun knocking down Mount Buzhou and the catastrophic flood from the Celestial River that wiped out the mortal realm.
The Empress Nuwa, enshrined at Jinghuan, has her spiritual essence extended and nurtured at the ancestral temple "Dafu Butian Palace." The Empress Nuwa enshrined at Butian Palace has a history of nearly two hundred years, dating back to the eighth year of Daoguang (1828). It is recorded that a divine statue carved with the Empress Nuwa of Zhejiang was found washed ashore, and since then, she has powerfully protected the local populace. Jinghuan strictly adheres to the ancestral temple's New Camp lineage, following the saying "Understand the truth at the front of the Wuji Hall in the rear palace," and urges believers to realize that their heart's intent lies in comprehending the Marshal's heart.
The main altar enshrines the Primordial Divine System, including the Mother of Buddha (Goddess of Mercy, Buddha Ancestor), Golden Mother, Queen Mother, Earth Mother, and Dao Mother (Nine Heavens Mystic Woman). Additionally, a statue of Nuwa is presented. Each deity presides over a concept, signifying the infinite and the ultimate limitlessness. The Golden Mother represents nothingness, the Queen Mother represents heaven, the Earth Mother represents earth, Nuwa represents humanity, and the Dao Mother represents the Dao. This symbolizes: "Nothingness, Heaven, Earth, Humanity, and the Dao Heart." The Primordial dictates selflessness, meaning the absence of personal desires for heaven, earth, humanity, the Dao, or the heart. By detaching from everything and desiring nothing, all wishes can be fulfilled.
