Guanyin became a Buddha in a past kalpa, known as the Tathagata of the Pure Dharma Light. Because she could not bear to see sentient beings suffer in the Saha world, she decided to return in a慈航 (a vessel of compassion) to the Bodhisattva position to widely guide all sentient beings. This noble sentiment is beyond the reach of ordinary people and is worthy of remembrance by sentient beings on her enlightenment day, appreciating her compassion. It is especially auspicious to recite scriptures, chant mantras, and light lamps on or around this day, yielding great merit. 🙏
