Golden Ring Fortune Slip

Ninth Song [Feng Tian Xiao Xu, Shi Ping Gui Explores Han Yao]

Lone and wandering amid the dust of war, ten thousand miles stretch far.

A hero triumphant rides in his golden chariot.

The beggar of yesteryear is honored today.

How can Su Wei eliminate hatred?

  • Love: Communication barriers, differing opinions, and not very smooth.
  • Family fortune: Discord and many disputes, decline and lack of vigor, much toil. Be patient in handling matters; after the rain, the sky will surely clear.
  • Pregnancy: Take precautions against miscarriage.
  • Children: The image suggests that one will be busy because of their children, but will have good fortune in old age.
  • Turnover: There is a woman obstructing it, and it will not succeed.
  • Buying and selling: The economy is bad, making transactions difficult or with slim profit margins.
  • Disease: Its illness is difficult to treat but not serious.
  • Lost item: Urgently search in the east-southeast. Lost items within the house can be found.
  • Lawsuit: If it fails, it will also lead to reconciliation. If it causes trouble, it brings vigilance and is unfavorable.
  • Business: Little hope.
  • Academics: Not ideal.
Hexagram interpretation:
Literal interpretation of the character "Zhu": The "xiao" (small) in "Xiao Xu" refers to yin. "Xu" means to block. It also indicates a weak yin blocking a strong yang, thus the blocking force becomes small and weak. From the perspective of the hexagram's structure: one yin among the four upper lines blocks the other five lines, which means the single yin in the upper trigram (Xun) blocks the pure yang of the lower trigram (Qian). This is equivalent to a weak yin blocking a strong yang; as a result, it cannot be blocked and actually becomes smaller and smaller. Therefore, this hexagram is named "Xiao Xu" (Minor Containment). Furthermore, because the hexagram's imagery represents yin blocking yang, it can also be likened to the phenomenon of "cloudy skies without rain."

Interpretation of fortune stick person

Xue Pinggui is a fictional character from legends and operas. According to Mr. Yang Zhilie of the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Arts, the story of Xue Pinggui originated from the oral storytelling of "The Legend of the Dragon-Phoenix Golden Hairpin" (also known as "Jin Xianlong"). This is also the prevailing view in the opera community today. In traditional Chinese operas across various regions, except for certain genres in Fujian and Guangdong, there are no plays featuring Xue Pinggui. However, in some opera genres in Fujian and Guangdong, plays featuring both Xue Pinggui and Shi Pinggui exist, with identical plots. This situation may have arisen because the pronunciations of "Xue" and "Shi" are similar in the local dialects.
