Hexagram interpretation:
"Tong Ren" means getting close to each other. The upper trigram of this hexagram is Qian, representing heaven; the lower trigram is Li, representing fire. Both have the same upward tendency. Especially the Xun trigram, which forms the inner trigram of the Li trigram, represents wind. Therefore, the fire in the lower trigram, with the help of the wind, burns fiercely upward and gets close to the heaven above, shining together. At the same time, the yin line in the second position merges with the yang lines in the other five positions. This also expresses the meaning of closeness. Therefore, it is named the "Tong Ren" hexagram.

Interpretation of fortune stick person

Xue Li (613-683), with the courtesy name Rengui, was a general during the reigns of Emperor Taizong and Emperor Gaozong of the Tang dynasty. He was a sixth-generation descendant of the Northern Wei general Xue Andu and hailed from the Hedong Xue clan.

Skilled in martial arts but lacking fortune: Xue Rengui possesses eighteen martial arts skills, but without opportunity, his talents are useless. Why strive for strength to be a hero: Xi - word meaning. Xi xu - why/what need. Why compete with force to become a hero! The Dragon Gate appears, the man is like a tiger: Xu Maogong offered the emperor a plan - "As long as you order the setting up of the Dragon Gate formation, Your Majesty will naturally be able to see this young general in white robes." Commanding a thousand armies to bow down: Xue Rengui commanded tens of thousands of troops, their formations changing with the banners. Sometimes a golden dragon ascended to the heavens, and sometimes a clear dragon dove underwater. Zhang Shigui willingly bowed down in defeat.

Even though Xue Rengui had eighteen martial arts skills when he went to join the army, without good fortune, he wouldn't have succeeded and was rejected. How can one become a hero? Xue Rengui displayed his tiger-like talents by setting up the cage gate formation, commanding thousands of soldiers, formations changing with the shifting banners, and Zhang Shigui acknowledged defeat.

Divination Meaning
