Hexagram interpretation:
"Wang" means the fleeting and insubstantial nature of things, their constant arising and ceasing. "Ji" means "without." Therefore, "Ji Wang" together means without change or impermanence, in other words, it signifies truth and sincerity. The Qian hexagram (upper trigram) represents heaven, and the Zhen hexagram (lower trigram) represents "movement." Together, they expound the profound principles and functions of the "movement of the heavenly way." The movement of the heavenly way refers to the distinct seasons and the growth of all things in heaven and earth. This is the eternal, unchanging, and supremely sincere principle that continues to unfold. It fully embodies the meaning of "Ji Wang." On the other hand, the Zhen hexagram can be interpreted as "thunder," and the Qian hexagram represents "heaven." Together, they can be understood as thunder rumbling throughout the world. This reveals the natural law of creation without reservation: following nature rather than human intervention, without any forcing. Hence, the name of the hexagram "Wu Wang."

What is in one's heart may not necessarily come to fruition,
But it will surely become nourishment.

Interpretation of fortune stick person

Xue Rengui (613-683), courtesy name Rengui, was a general during the Tang Taizong and Tang Gaozong periods, from Longmen, Jiang Prefecture (modern Hejin, Shanxi). He was a sixth-generation descendant of the Northern Wei general Xue Andu and came from the Hedong Xue clan.

Annotation

Climbing the high path to the clouds is difficult: the path to the clouds refers to the high sky. Mo Tian Ling soars into the clouds, and it is very difficult to climb. Even if you rack your brains, you cannot find peace: even if you rack your brains and try every means, you still cannot get the desired result (cannot think of a solution). Fortunately, there is someone to help you: Fortunately, there is a noble person to help you (the old man selling bows on the mountain). You will finally see a loyal and upright person: a inch of cinnabar refers to the heart. The ancients called the heart the square inch of land. You finally see a loyal and upright person.

Vernacular

Xue Rengui attacked Matianling. Seeing that Matianling soared into the clouds, he tried everything he could but couldn't find a way to conquer it. Suddenly, he saw an old man selling bows. He pretended to be father and son and went up the mountain, finally conquering Matianling and gaining the assistance of two loyal brothers.

Fortune telling by lot

Xue Li attacked Mount Motian, gazing at the mountain and sighing, finding the path difficult to traverse. After much thought, he could not find a way forward. This fortune tells you that when facing difficulties, you should seize opportunities, think thrice, and act. With the right approach, things can be accomplished with ease. If you meet a benefactor, your problems will be resolved, and everything will go smoothly. Luck: Blocked. All things, good or bad, should be left to nature. All matters: New ventures are not advisable. Marriage: Difficult to finalize and likely to fail. You may succeed by enlisting the help of a matchmaker. Travel: Inauspicious. Lost items: Will not be found until the end of the month. Lawsuits: A settlement is best. Illness: Suitable for appeasement rituals or changing doctors. Six conflicting hexagrams: Recent illness, overcome; long-term illness, death. Seeking longevity: Leave it to fate. Seeking wealth: Wealth is empty, fortune is cut off. All your plans will be in vain. If you draw this fortune in winter, the亥 (hai) and 子 (zi) water elements clash with the worldly爻 (yao), indicating that the situation is beyond repair. If this fortune is drawn on a 巳 (si) or 亥 (hai) day, the fortune god is destroyed on that day, and the 辰 (chen)爻's wealth is in vain, with all hope dashed.

Divination Meaning

This hexagram's name is "Wu Wang," meaning "no false actions." It reveals the principle that one must act in accordance with nature and adhere to the righteous path in life, refraining from wishful thinking and improper actions. It also reflects the unfathomable nature of fortune and misfortune. It is advised to be practical and grounded in all things, and to avoid the abnormal psychological state of "delusion." This hexagram is a phenomenon of thunder rumbling in the sky, a natural celestial event, so there is no need to worry excessively, as worry is also a vain and futile act. It can also be extended to mean that the matter for which one is seeking divination is a matter of divine will or natural evolution, and that effort or worry are both superfluous.
This hexagram also carries the meaning of sincerity, meaning honesty. Honesty is the heavenly way of handling matters and dealing with people, so one must think carefully about everything, otherwise disasters are easily incurred. Extended, obtaining this hexagram often means being confused, trapped in self-delusion and obsession. Forcing things will inevitably bring disaster and harm. Furthermore, the upper trigram Qian (Heaven) is associated with metal, and the lower trigram Zhen (Thunder) is associated with wood. The conflict between metal and wood in the upper and lower trigrams is an ominous sign, indicating internal and external conflicts, unease, and contradictions. It signifies unfulfilled ambitions, unspoken grievances, and overall misfortune. When this hexagram is obtained, men may become excessively drunk and infatuated with wine and women, or lost in their own desires. Therefore, it is essential to refrain from becoming excessively absorbed in personal interests and desires, otherwise, misfortune will soon follow.
