Hexagram interpretation:
"頣" means jaw. It also means to nourish. Look at the hexagram's shape: the top and bottom lines are Yang, just like the upper and lower lips. The four Yin lines in between resemble teeth. The mouth is where we eat. Thus, the meaning of nourishment is clearly displayed. Furthermore, the lower trigram corresponds to the lower jaw; the Zhen trigram represents "movement," meaning the lower jaw moves. The upper trigram corresponds to the upper jaw, and the Gen trigram represents stopping. Combined, this means food stays inside the mouth while the lower jaw moves, which is the act of eating. In other words, it signifies "nourishment." This is why it is named the "Yi" hexagram.

Interpretation of fortune stick person

Mulan is a female hero from Chinese literature who took her father's place in the army during the Yuan Dynasty, though her historical authenticity is uncertain. Mulan first appeared in a narrative poem from the Northern and Southern Dynasties period, "The Ballad of Mulan," which is thought to have been composed around the Northern Wei period and was initially recorded in the "Gu Jin Yue Lu" during the Southern Chen Dynasty. The Ming Dynasty playwright Xu Wei adapted "The Ballad of Mulan" into "The Female Mulan Takes Her Father's Place in the Army," in which she refers to herself as "This humble one's surname is Hua, given name Mulan. My father's name is Hu, courtesy name Sangzhi. My mother is Hua Yuanshi."
