Hexagram interpretation:
The "Kan trigram" means difficulty and danger. The upper and lower trigrams of this hexagram are both "Kan trigrams," so it can be described as danger within danger. Furthermore, the "Kan trigram" represents "water." Precisely because the upper and lower trigrams are both Kan trigrams, the amount of water is excessive. If a person is trapped in a place with too much water, to the point of being submerged or drowned, the danger is self-evident.

Divination Meaning

This hexagram, named "Kan," signifies danger and entrapment. It reveals that when in distress, one should be resolute and firm, maintain sincerity and integrity, and act with caution to gradually overcome obstacles and emerge from difficulties. It also conveys the principle of using adversity to protect one's nation. This hexagram indicates that hardship has arrived, and one is struggling within this danger, at risk of being overwhelmed and scattered at any moment. If one can make a decisive move and fight with all their might, there might still be a turning point.
