My mind is distracted, and my loyal subjects have failed me.

Who toils under the stars and moon?

  • Love: Inseparable at first, heartless in the end, inevitably parting.
  • Family Luck: Many who do not cherish the blessings of their ancestors will suffer a decline in fortune.
  • Pregnancy: Anxiety.
  • Children: Happy at first, but quarrelsome when grown.
  • Turnover: Achievable in the short term, hopeless in the long term.
  • Buying and selling: Take your profit when you see it, don't be greedy, or it will be detrimental.
  • Illness: It got better for a while, then worsened.

Hexagram interpretation:
"Ji Ji" means that all things have been helped and achieved. All six lines in this hexagram are in the correct position. All six lines form a phenomenon of mutual correspondence between yin and yang. This complete phenomenon of yin and yang appropriately complementing each other is quite rare and valuable in the study of the I Ching. It is also a phenomenon of mutual assistance between yin and yang. That is to say, it means Ji Ji. On the one hand, the Kan trigram (upper trigram) represents "water"; the Li trigram (lower trigram) represents "fire." Together, it means water burning on fire. Imagine: "Fire" has the characteristic of burning upwards, while "water" has the function of moistening downwards. Now that water is above and fire is below, it represents the intense sun's fire shining on the earth and the evaporation of moisture from the ground. This means the interaction and mutual assistance of yin and yang energies of water and fire in their functions. On the other hand, the Kan trigram represents middle-aged men, and the Li trigram represents middle-aged women. Now, with middle-aged men above and middle-aged women below, the positions of men and women are appropriate, symbolizing mutual assistance in marriage and union. This is also the meaning of Ji Ji.

Emperor Taizu of Song, Zhao Kuangyin (March 21, 927 – November 14, 976), was the founding emperor of the Song dynasty in China. His temple name was Taizu. His ancestral home was Zhuozhou (present-day Hebei), and he was born in Jiamaying Camp, Luoyang.

After the fact, three reflections and tear-soaked tissues: After investigating the original cause, one weeps bitterly. Not even getting a share, in vain chasing the deer: "Sharing the broth" - a metaphor for discord between father and son, lacking affection. "Chasing the deer in vain" - unable to catch the fat deer. Before enjoying a comfortable life, one is killed by a blade. Who else will wear the stars and moon: "Wearing the stars and moon" - to wear the stars on one's body and the moon on one's head. Describing traveling day and night or starting early and returning late, working extremely hard. Who else can conquer the land for the Song Dynasty while wearing the stars and moon?

Zhao Kuangyin was so drunk that he was unconscious, which gave Han Sumei the opportunity to falsely pass a decree and kill King Zheng En of Beiping. When Zhao Kuangyin sobered up and learned of Zheng En's death, he wept bitterly. After investigating the whole affair, he angrily executed the Han Long siblings. Zheng En had fought and bled with Zhao Kuangyin to build his empire, and before he could enjoy the fruits of his labor, he died by the sword. Who else would be willing to build the Song Dynasty through hardship and toil?

Fortune telling by lot

Zhao Kuangyin made a mistake due to drinking and regretted it deeply. He listened to a woman and wrongly killed loyal officials. This divination slip indicates that having gained the kingdom, one has reached the pinnacle and is now at a turning point, moving from prosperity to decline. It signifies a transition from power to weakness, a period of inevitable decline after reaching its peak. Therefore, it is advisable to secure the achievements already made, maintain the status quo, and prevent a situation from going from good to bad, with the risk of collapse at any moment. One should be cautious. As the saying goes: "Even with a fortune of ten thousand strings of cash at home, it is in vain if one does not know how to be thrifty." This is a fortunate omen with great rewards. For wealth: Good in spring, slight in autumn. For fame and career: Progress is possible. For legal matters: Like people from Wu and Yue in the same boat, reconciliation is good. For marriage: The union of two families, a good conclusion. For lost items: Seek in the west. For buying land: Auspicious.

Divination Meaning

This hexagram, "Ji Ji," signifies the completion of an undertaking. It reveals the principle that when a venture is accomplished, one must maintain balance and righteousness, exercise restraint and caution, and avoid arrogance or recklessness. It also conveys a sense of apprehension, reminding us that prosperity inevitably wanes and maintaining achievement is difficult. Ji Ji: Represents the harmony of water and fire, yin and yang, signifying a period of peace and joy. It indicates a situation that is auspicious but carries hidden dangers. Water and fire are naturally antagonistic, but due to temporary environmental or interpersonal influences, they coexist peacefully for a time. However, this is not a lasting state, and conflict and decline are inevitable. Kan (water) is above Li (fire). Water flows downward, and fire rises upward. Water and fire, yin and yang, meet and pass, thus becoming "Ji Ji" (already accomplished). One must guard against initial success leading to final chaos; careful planning is necessary in all matters. As this is a hexagram that can transform, one must not be negligent and should steadfastly adhere to the path of integrity.
