Yi Wu was less capable than Chong'er and by nature cruel and violent. To obtain the position of heir apparent, he did not hesitate to use poisonous tactics to harm Chong'er. To avoid fratricide, Chong'er resolutely went abroad to travel.\n\nAbandoning his country, he who knows first will not live long: Duke Mu of Qin escorted Chong'er back to Jin. Chong'er ascended the throne and was known as Duke Wen of Jin. After his enthronement, he held high prestige among the feudal lords.\n\nWhen tigers and dragons meet, they will join forces: Upon returning to his country and ascending the throne, he appointed many capable individuals, implemented new policies, and actively reformed. The strength of Jin rapidly grew. Later, he quelled the rebellion of the Zhou royal family, earning widespread praise throughout the land.\n\nRectifying the state and restoring order: Rectifying means to set right and unite. Chong'er learned that Yi Wu ruled without principle, the laws and policies of Jin were in great disarray, and the common people lived in dire straits. Thus, he led an army to return to Jin.
