Lord Wanshen was originally a shepherd boy. Due to his impoverished family, he usually grazed his flock in the area of Mt. Kanglang. The shepherd boy discovered a place with auspicious feng shui amidst the bushes on Mt. Kanglang and would meditate there whenever he had the time. One day, while meditating, he passed away without illness. Later, the shepherd boy, benefiting from this favorable location, attained enlightenment and became a deity, known by everyone as the Child Lord \ud83d\ude4f.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty, the Five Lords of the Prefecture fancied the geography of Kuanglang Mountain for their benevolent work. However, the Child Spirit was already stationed there. The Child Spirit declared: \"I buried a copper needle here in my lifetime to claim this auspicious spot, so you may not occupy it.\" The Five Lords of the Prefecture further stated: \"When we arrived in Taiwan, we also buried a copper coin as proof.\" As both sides argued, they asked the Earth God to dig up the evidence. Upon digging, they discovered the copper needle was perfectly lodged within the copper coin. From this point, a fierce battle ensued.
Later, Guanyin Buddha mediated. The Five Lords of the Palaces built a large temple and, at the same time, built a small temple for Jianzi Gong. Believers visiting the large temple will also visit the small temple, sharing in the popular worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
